We were Volunteers / Followers /
Sympathizers’ in a beautiful dream for our country through this Civil Society
Movement “India against Corruption” (IAC) against corruption which is the root
of all evil / crimes in this country. The movement was supposedly initiated by
bringing together like minded activists / groups, forming a simple platform
which was free from any high command or ownership restrictions by any
individual / group and based on the ideology of great Indian Revolutionaries
and thereby could be used by any citizen with a genuine issue against
corruption or crimes as a result of corruption akin to Colonization whereby
called the 2nd struggle for Independence, mobilizing people under
our national flag against even the biggest corrupt Political setups / Mafia.
This was the message that was clearly repeatedly by Kejriwal and Co. people who
initiated the movement to enroll lakhs of ordinary sincere volunteers across
the country to empower them and believed it is a true independent “People
Movement” and these volunteers in turn formed / joined online groups and
initiated local meetings to motivate millions to join believing in the same
ideology.
An unprecedented wave of people, especially
the educated middle class joined the civil society movement and vowed to stand shoulder
to shoulder with its leaders to eliminate this menace of Corruption and even
succeeded to bring the parliament on its knees to promise the people of India
that they will get the much awaited bill against corruption. But what happened later has disturbed
us all. Many of the leaders / icons whom we created and who were coordinators /
facilitators, so called Core Committee members have cunningly dumped the
movement to come into politics or set up their own proprietary shops claiming
to fight corruption and
conveniently disowned the Civil Society Movement of "IAC" (India
against Corruption). The naive Indian people who believed in the
sincerity of some of them and blinded by the euphoria even joined the Political
front (AAP Party) / NGOs’ formed as a result of the IAC movement believing it
will be a true democratic Party unlike others but soon have began to realize
that their leadership / coordinators has been sold off, perhaps from Inception
to merely enter politics themselves after which the IAC movement and the
people’s aspiration could be compromised.
Is “IAC” our Civil Society Movement against
Corruption and degradation of our nation, Kejriwal and Co. ancestral
property whose principles that can be traded away like this? Millions participated
in the ‘IAC’ (India Against Corruption) movement after being made to believe
it's their platform and thereby made these leaders / facilitators or so called
core Committee members, national icons that they are today and even gheroed the
parliament who only bowed before the people and not to a movement run by a
private entity /s. "We the people" having trusted and then being
cheated time and again by different set ups claiming to save us, now know that
similar to all earlier proprietary political formations / organizations
claiming to liberate us from corruption or take accountability from our elected
parliamentarians but who themselves had no internal democratic for people’s participation or public accountability
and likewise this too is nothing but the latest political fraud engineered on
the people of this country with the 2014 election in mind and has been served
“OLD WINE IN NEW BOTTLES”.
When “AAP” Party was formed, and when Anna
announced that he would rejoin the IAC movement, in a matter of hours Arvind
Kesriwal without the need for asking opinion of volunteers who joined AAP Party
announced that out of respect for Anna, AAP party would no longer be
associating with IAC and would give it away to Anna as if “it was his personal
ancestral property”. This was the beginning of the plot to kill the Civil
Society Movement of IAC (India against Corruption). Subsequently Anna too
disappeared strangely from the "IAC".
Many Volunteers of “IAC” movement who
joined AAP Party since began suspecting the real intentions of Kejriwal’s
Political Party formation. Volunteers also realized the lack of democracy in
unit, Taluka / district organizational formation across the country. Though Kejriwal
and some others on the top manages to stay and look clean and engages in
popular issues, especially around Delhi which is after all India's Capital and
geographically very small, it's increasingly becoming clear that this is a
cunning temporary strategy, given the Delhi State election and coverage in the
main stream corporate media giving the AAP party a good image across the nation
and thereby sizable media driven memberships. The real truth is that people
with dubious backgrounds and with very little or no engagements with people’s
issues are being delegated rather than elected democratically to the
responsibility of handling organizational affairs at unit, District & State
levels across most of the country.
Take Case Study of Mumbai the commercial
capital where the biggest corruption cartels rules will show that it is headed
by a co-opted (not elected) non inspiring, one Mayank Gandhi, nephew of a
dubious builder, hardly any honest deed to talk about and on the contrary was
controversial in a scam where he claims to have been received public money Rs
50 million for mere consultancy work for a NGO / Social project which never saw
light of day. A typical upmarket Bandra Boy, quite unlikely to travel to
interior & remote Maharashtrain villages to understand farmers or Dalits
issues, only known to give pep talks on stage launching party programs and at
rallies against the establishment after walking a couple hundred meters quietly
disappears under some pretext to reappear a few hundred meters before the rally
ends to take the mike, while poor and even handicapped people had walked miles.
If Mayank is the marketing manager of AAP
Party in Mumbai then one Mr Praful Vora, virtually unknown to most volunteers
and questionable background has suddenly landed from the U.S.A. (???) to become the most powerful bureaucrat
of Maharashtra decision making body. Another page 3 personality by the name of
“Preethi Menon’ handles the media for AAP party and Anjali Damania, a doctor
perhaps the least damaging of the lot in the local leadership is there to sort
out her own personal 50-60 acre land problem in some village. Moreover these
influential people without any democratic process have appointed incompetent
‘so called sole officially appointed coordinators’ or rather the bosses “Yes
Ministers” on self-respecting honest IAC volunteers and supervise AAP Party
Activities.
Other people who assert influence in the
local Maharashtra leadership come from certain questionable NGO background and
some which work with goals only of saving the cow or the dog and sometimes
inclined in spreading minority hatred or harassing Non-Vegetarians than the
macro problem of corruption. Other elements who contribute or participate in
AAP Party programs or Public meetings is small time parties who can’t win
elections on their own but have some base, especially in rural area.
Participation by these parties contributed a lot to the success of the 1st Public meeting at Roha in Maharashtra.
But most of them have little interest in removing corruption or serving people.
Selfless IAC volunteer’s precious and scare
time, energy and resources were wasted into lesser priority activities and
symbolic tiring marches, etc and they were ‘diverted from’ or ‘not supported’
in real issues of corruption they took up, frustrating them further. With no
democratic redress system available most good activists left the movement or
were forced out, if they tried to raise their voices. Databases of volunteers
have been sole property of Kejriwal & Co. though it was collected under the
garb of the Civil Society Movement of IAC (India Against Corruption). Crores of
public funds collected in the name of IAC have been used for a pure proprietary
party which looks no different than the Congress or the BJP or the CPI(M) /
others. The AAP party may announce an internal election subsequently for eye washing
the public like they do in the Congress after they have ensured that self
respecting honest cadres are shooed or frustrated away, leaving only crony
members.
The story from rest of the country where the IAC
movement gathered people are more or less the same. Some place where IAC movements
have still to make inroads, authentic people are encouraged giving a good
impression of the AAP party but quite naturally these unsuspecting authentic
people will be used and sidelined just like in other places.
Merely writing books like “Swaraj” by Arvind
Kejriwal and giving false hopes to the people can only hoodwink the people
unless there are democratic principles governing the movement which gives free
access to databases and allows free interactivity between volunteers to
democratically elect their coordinators /
representatives. Thereby AAP party which claims to ensure accountability /
transparency from elected parliamentarians, themselves has no genuine internal
democracy for checks and balances. Now that they are gullible just like any
other political set up, investors / lobbyists will finance them and trade for
their M.P.s / MLAs’ etc to be their proxy in Parliament just like the others
and the corporate media will give
them publicity to ensure the rest. With faith of the people in the Congress,
BJP and other main stream parties ever eroding, the AAP Party and such
proprietary set ups formed as a result of the Civil Society Movement of
"IAC" will then be sold as an alternative to the people of this
country to pacify them for some years, just like how they were made us to vote
for the BJP / Janata Party earlier giving “The Congress”, the illicit child of
the British Raj a rest whenever their ouster by the people looks inevitable.
The AAP Party may even engage in some symbolism by charging some high profile
cases to eyewash the public if they come to power like how the Janata Party had
arrested Indira Gandhi.
Why is Arvind Kesriwal and others who took
decisions in the IAC movement keen on killing the Civil Society Movement of IAC
despite the fact that it made them national icons?
The Civil Society Movement of "IAC"
is a simple platform where no one or organization can put ownership
restrictions and gave activist citizen the best chance at raising their voice
against corruption and fighting even the biggest corrupt politician or business
cartel and the country hope against poverty, inflation, crime, Police Atrocities,
Judicial abuse etc. People have been disillusioned by authoritarian and
non-democratic setups and lack of people’s representation in mainstream
political parties. The Civil Society Movement of ‘IAC’ (India against
Corruption) was just the right platform without any high command allowing
people to polarize under its banner and our national flag bringing the issue of
corruption to center stage like never before. The standoff with the parliament
and the subsequently the Parliament bowed to the wishes of the Civil Society
Movement. Today the people who formed the Civil Society of “IAC” platform have
caught the imagination of this country became brand in their own rights and
have earned their own bargaining power. But
to risk their head is another thing.
To take the movement to its ultimate goal
could cause their lives or end up as pauper like many genuine activists before
them. One cannot rule out the possibility of Kejriwal being a co-opted activist
and financed for the movement in the 1st place with the whole plan even never
being his, which now is being increasingly evident. It is no secret to IAC volunteers’ who
encountered staffers in IAC / AAP party offices who were taking orders and
depended on salaries unlike a IAC volunteer. Who was financing this BPO? The
allegation of western fundings to Kejriwal in millions through Ford Foundation
who are also known to be funding activist in other people's movements like
Syria, Egypt etc with the sole purpose of western domination cannot
be neglected. Also the allegation of fundings by "Jindal" with vested
interests is serious. Kejriwal a supposedly honest IAS officer earlier was
known to roam Delhi slums with his version of activism which went nowhere.
Activists at this low point bites the humble pie and is vulnerable to the
systems vultures for a deal, especially if they can save face in life and go
back home with chest still held high because they have given big speeches when
they left home / lucrative office for activism / Honesty / Principles and now
broke. Yesteryear Communists failed primarily due to this unrealistic form of
activism and ultimately compromised the movement. Many children of Communist
mill worker fathers joined a party like the Shiv Sena because their principles
and honesty couldn’t feed their family. The BJP previously Jan Sangh before
coming to power were routed in elections and many knows the story of how Advani
& Bajpayee went for a movie seeing the end of the world. Then who put money
on these lame horses? Bajpayee maintained his personal integrity and persona
while others who used him as a poster boy looted the country. Kejriwal is the
new poster boy engineered on the horizon of Indian Politics. In this age of
"Corporate Media" who controls most information flow to us, whats the
big deal in manipulating people's minds and making someone look good.
Now it's also being evident that Kejriwal being funded by western sources with suspicious intent because the timing of his campaign also raises eyebrows. An internet based revolution has been brewing across the globe especially after the beginning of the "Arab Spring" which began in Tunisia. The western powers have since been nervous of a similar people's movement in India given its much larger internet penetration and Internet savvy educated youth. These colonial western powers and their policies have never really left India and it's not surprising they have strong influences on our policies whomsoever we vote to power. These world business powers have tremendous influence of all aspects which govern our nation including the Media and can easily engineer someone who looks like our Messiah but in reality is their man to power.
SO DOES THAT LEAVE US INDIANS HOPELESS FOREVER?
A BUNCH OF FOOLS WITH NO OPTION BUT TO VOTE THE CONGRESS BACK TO POWER AFTER ROAMING
IN THE WILDERNESS FOR SOME YEARS EXPERIMENTING WITH THESE NEW PARTIES?
Not if we act responsibly, and believe that “WE CAN AND WE WILL”.
The Civil Society Movement of “IAC (India against Corruption) is ours best hope
to live an empowering life as in western or developed countries and therefore
saving it should be our most important priority in public life. Here an
ordinary citizen / activist don’t need any high commands sanction to polarize
under the national flag and thereby it will attract maximum participation as
long as the issue is genuine and anyone has the freedom to continue fighting
the issue regardless of who compromises till the issue is solved unlike in
authoritarian restrictive organization where corrupt bosses can settle the
matter. But this time we don’t even need any core committee as leaders /
coordinators who controlled assets / databases / websites of the movement which
were the shortcoming of the earlier “IAC” movement as compromise by them
compromised the civil society movement itself.
Many of us IAC volunteers were unhappy with
Anna too who after a break announced his campaign
under the proprietary ‘Bhrastachaar Virodhi Jan Andolan’, but instructed
IAC volunteers that they couldn't identify themselves as IAC in his
movement. Internal bickering between Anna and Kejriwal, especially in relation
to money collected from us, the general public makes us very uncomfortable with
Anna also. In the light of these evidences Anna’s silence will raise serious
questions and the nation needs answers. Even Kiran Bedi she has to answer this
nation why after raising her voice to continue the movement and putting up an
“IAC” office in Delhi also, she too quietly left closing her Delhi office.
These things will hardly matter if we take responsibility for our lives and vow to keep or national flag flying high and not wait for some Mahatma / prophet / Messiah / Bhagwan to come and save us on doomsday as told to us always while they laugh their way to the bank. We have been shown the way by martyrs of our nation like Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekar Azad, Ashfaqullah Khan, Pandit Ram Prasad Bismil & others who died for us and were associated with the organisation "Hindustan Republican Association" founded by Sachindranath Sanyal & Others in 1923 which organised the movement then known as "India against Colonisation" from which this movement akin to it "India against Corruption" has evolved. It is not surprising that Kejriwal and others never educated ordinary "IAC" volunteers on how the "IAC" belonged to them for their intention seemed to be to quieten it after their ends were met
Therefore we have to give these people with
narrow selfish a clear message that we Indians are not "IDIOTS".
Reviewing the Civil Society Movement of “IAC” (India against Corruption), our best hope against the menace of
corruption which is playing havoc with our lives and also sending a message to
these people that we can also recognize a snake and not hesitate to expose them
so that it doesn't weaken our Civil Society Movement against
Corruption and the new slogan is not I am this one or that one but
“I AM THE FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION”
